Privacy policy

Nola is a personal project operated by its owner, who can be contacted at the address below. Nola at nolapp.vercel.app stores the financial records you enter in this browser first. If you sign in, Supabase Auth and Postgres store your account identity, profile, spending notes, folders, expenses, income, budgets, accounts, and savings goals for cloud sync. Your browser also stores the app data and sign-in session.

AI note parsing is optional. When enabled, Nola sends the note text and limited context (currency, local date, time zone, categories, and payment methods) to Google Gemini to identify expenses, income, new goals, and goal deposits. Your saved-goal list and transaction history are not sent; goal names you write in the note are part of its text. On the free tier, Google may use prompts and responses to improve its products, and human reviewers may process them. Do not submit sensitive or personal information. Review Google's Gemini API data terms before enabling this feature.

Vercel hosts Nola. If you accept analytics, Vercel Web Analytics receives anonymous page views, referrers, and broad location, browser, and device details. It uses a daily request hash rather than cookies; the hash expires after 24 hours. Analytics does not receive your account ID, amounts, spending notes, category names, or payment details. If error reporting is configured, it receives shortened, redacted error details and the affected screen.

Daily push reminders are not available in this release, so Nola does not collect push subscriptions for reminders. To limit AI abuse, Nola stores a one-way fingerprint of your network address with parser attempt times; only attempts from the last 24 hours count, and older records are removed during later parser requests. The raw address is not stored in this rate-limit table.

You can export your data in Settings. Deleting an account removes its active cloud records and clears Nola data from the current browser. Provider backups and security logs may remain under their own retention schedules. Contact us below for privacy questions or deletion help. Nola does not sell your personal data.
